Should The L.A. Lakers Be the Basketball Pick of the Week?
The Los Angeles Lakers have finally made a trade with forward Brian Cook and guard Maurice Evans to the Orlando Magic for forward Trevor Ariza. Ariza averages 3.3 points and 2.2 rebounds in his 11 played games this season. Last season when playing for the Magic, he averaged 8.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per contest. Ariza is a 6-foot-8, very athletic player that is particularly skilled in defense. He played for UCLA for one season before being drafts by the New York Knicks with the 43rd overall pick in 2004. Cook has played sparingly for the Lakers this season, with 2.3 points and 1.7 rebound averages in six games. This is his first year of a $10.5 million three year contract. Evans has averaged 4.4 points in seven games playing for the Lakers. He is in his final year of his contract. The Lakers play tonight, November 21 at 8 pm in Milwaukee against the Bucks. The Lakers aim for their fifth straight win tonight. The Bucks went 2-0 against the Lakers last season, but Los Angeles is 19-4 over the last 23 meetings. LA has also won nine of its last 11 games at Milwaukee. The Lakers may be at an advantage with high confidence, as they have achieved the highest point total in the NBA this season and have outscored their last three opponents by a combined margin of 60 points. They may even use their new trade, Ariza, in this game. Check out more NBA odds and the best basketball pick for this week at an online sportsbook.
