Top 5 Mistakes When Playing Texas Hold'em
By: CRAZY POKER GUY

 Royal Vegas Casino

There are a number of EXPENSIVE mistakes that you are most likely making in your poker game RIGHT NOW.

I'm going to go over the top 5 mistakes that most people make and explain how you can begin to not only FIX them right away, but you can start to take advantage of the other players who are making these mistakes.

So let's get started...

MISTAKE #1 -- Playing Too Many Hands

Most of the poker players out there are playing way too loose with their starting hands. You really need to concentrate on sticking with the PREMIUM hands, especially when you're at a large 8, 9 or 10 man table.

You should avoid limping in with bad cards just to see the flop, hoping for something good. It's not worth it, and all those blinds add up if you're not careful!

The main reason why most people are playing too many hands, is simply that they want ACTION. It's human nature to want to get into the action and not wait around for good cards.

However, if you want to win, you need to be more patient.

You know you're playing good poker if you're getting BORED. Yes I said BORED :-).

MISTAKE #2 -- Not Playing Correctly For Your Position

In Texas Hold'em, position is everything...

Being in the right position at the table gives you a huge advantage over the other players. This means that your opponents must act FIRST. This allows you to make an informed decision of what you want to do, based on how they played.

The LATER your position on the table, the better. This means you want to be the last to act after the flop. The best position is the dealer (aka "the button").

One of the biggest mistakes that most people make is playing based on the CARDS and not considering their position. For example... How you would play pocket ACES as big blind is completely different than how you should play when you're on the button.

That goes for ALL hands and ALL positions.

MISTAKE #3 -- Letting Your Emotions Get Involved

Controling your emotions is a HUGE part of being a successful Hold'em player. You need to be able to remove yourself from the outcome of the game, and just play smart poker.

Poker can very easily become an emotional game for many reasons. You're playing with MONEY, your EGO and LUCK. This can create a very emotional outcome.

However you MUST control your emotions, and if possible, leave them completely at the door. Going TILT is one of the fastest ways poker players go BROKE, so just relax... You're playing for fun, so take it easy and you're win much more often.

MISTAKE #4 -- Not Knowing The Odds Of Winning

If you know the ODDS and can calculate the chance of winning in poker, you will be much more successful.

Of course you can win some games by being able to READ your oppponents, and "guess" what they might have in their hand...

But, it really comes down to knowing the odds if you want to be a consistant winner.

I know that for some of you, the idea of "calculating" and "math" is not a fun subject, but it's really not as difficult as you might think. There are actually a lot of "shortcuts" and "tricks" you can use to quickly calculate pot odds, hand percentages, outs and other important information.

MISTAKE #5 -- Thinking You Know It All

I run into many "know it all" poker players in the various games and tournaments I play in. The funny thing is, they may know it all... But I have all the money at the end :-)...

The fact is, you were not BORN to play poker. It's a SKILL game and you have to learn how to play if you want to be great at it.

You've got to always be asking yourself... "Is this the right move for this situation?"

You need to let your EGO go and realize that you DON'T know it all, and that there are other people who are better than you that you can learn from. I've been fortunate to personally learn from some of the greatest players alive, and I'm always looking for more information to improve my game, and you should too.

Understand that Poker is a SKILL game, and the more knowledge you have will put you at an advantage over the others at the table. You can literally "STACK THE DECK" in your favor.

If you want to learn HOW TO WIN, I can show you everything you need to know, and you can INSTANTLY take your poker skills to the next level!

Poker - king of Card games

Poker is a popular card game. Nobody is really sure of its origin. It is very similar to the Persian game of as nas. It is believed that the game was taught to the French settlers in New Orleans by Persian sailors. It is not clear how poker came to be but some of the features were known in the previous games. Perhaps the earlier games have influenced the present form of poker. It seems, in 1800 gambling was a common pastime. During the gold rush it spread up the Mississippi and West. It . . .
